Wrong Righted

by Craig Price on

One of the main points I try to make when I talk about Getting a Grip on Negativityis that we need to admit and learn from our mistakes. Some people just want to move past things they’ve done wrong and leave them alone. Why stir up problems? Mistakes give us an opportunity to learn and reflecting on our mistakes allows us to avoid problems in the future or hopefully correct mistakes we’ve mad in the past. Today the Red Sox celebrated their 2007 Championship and corrected a wrong many New Englanders and Red Sox fans have done to one man for far to long.  Photos from Boston.com

Throwing out today’s first pitch was Bill Buckner.

For years Red Sox fans blamed him for the loss in Game 6 during the 1986 World Series. Now I won’t rehash all that happened. You can look that up for yourself. But far too many people focused their disappointment and anger at this man when he didn’t deserve it.

I’m glad the Red Sox ownership publicly corrected this wrong perception and welcomed Bill back to Boston to share in the glory.

And I’m glad Bill was gracious enough to accept the invite.

Thank you, Bill.

You’re so right!! Red Sox got their act together today. Didn’t think I’d live long enough to see them win a pennant and this too! GO SOX!
